THE RETURN OF EXECUTIVE CHEF
DEBBIE GOLD!

We are thrilled to announce the return of James Beard Award Winner Debbie
Gold to The American Restaurant family!

Debbie Gold returns as Executive Chef to The American beginning Friday,
July 11. After leaving The American in 2002 to open her own concept, 40
Sardines in Leawood, Debbie "returns home." Kansas City is buzzing with
excitement to see what Debbie will bring to the menu and dining experience
in keeping with the standards that The American has held since 1974!

With the arrival of Debbie, we bid a fond farewell to
Executive Chef Celina Tio.

Celina Tio came to The American Restaurant in 2002 and has been an
incredible asset to both The American Restaurant and the Kansas City
philanthropic community. After six years with The American, she is
departing to open her own concept, Julia(n), in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Celina received numerous recognitions while at the helm at The American
including James Beard Award: Best Chef Midwest 2007 and Best Chef: Chef
Magazine 2005. We wish her only the best of luck on this exciting and
challenging endeavor!
